Snow Science- Density Tool
Our density tool is a compact, easy to use product to obtain snowpack density data. Used in combination with a 200g or 300g spring scale as well as an available app, forecasters can quickly and accurately obtain density information. This is another product made here in Trail BC, 3D printed at Tempus 3D.
We’ve done a season of field testing comparing data from 4 different tools. The small sample size of the 1023 tool still provided accurate enough data compared to methods taking far larger samples. The unit weighs 47g, takes up very little space in one’s pack, and is relatively easy to use making it a far more desirable option compared to other tools.
