Boot Repair

The 1023 quick rivet will repair broken cuffs on most ski boots whether at the ski shop or in the middle of nowhere.

The quick rivet fixes broken ankle rivets on most ski boots quickly without any special tools required. It is a M8 bolt and T-nut with our washer and spacer 3D printed at Tempus 3D right here in Trail. A ski tech can replace a broken rivet in minutes with a simple, bomb-proof repair. The provided spacer will allow it to fix a wider range of boots as well as replace a broken cuff alignment adjustment if needed. It requires a 5 mm hex wrench and either blue or red thread lock or a good quality 5 min or 24 hour epoxy to make a permanent repair. It is a good addition to a back country kit possible saving a potentially miserable experience of a broken rivet in the middle of nowhere.

Test fit the parts before applying epoxy or thread lock. Apply thread lock or epoxy to the threads and install bolt. Be careful to not get thread lock on the plastic parts or the boot. On touring boots do not over-tighten to ensure boot pivots smoothly in walk mode. A repair made with 5 min epoxy should be ready to ski in 15 min. Thread lock should be given 24 hours to set up. This should provide a permanent repair lasting the life of the boot.

I would recommend either tape, Cambrelle or some sort of covering to protect the liner.

We have had no failures thus far and feel this is as strong if not stronger than the factory installed rivet.
